Open Phone Line → Settings and use Where should calls ring?. On Business and Scale, you get three choices. Pick one, save, then finish any follow-up steps for that mode.
1. Personal cell
Best when one person answers on their regular phone.
- Choose Personal cell (forward to a number).
- Enter Forward calls to in E.164 format (example:
+15205551212). - Click Save phone line settings.
Callers ring that number. If nobody answers before the timeout (or you’re closed without a Call flow), they reach Phone Line → Voicemail.
Tip: Don’t test by calling the business line from the same phone you forward to — carriers often collapse that into an instant miss.
2. Ring in the mobile app
Best when you want CallKit / in-app ringing instead of (or in addition to planning for) a PSTN cell.
- Install the Ring Attendant iOS app and sign in with the same account.
- On Phone Line → Settings, choose Ring in the mobile app.
- Save. A registered device must be online for the call to ring.
If no app device is registered, unanswered callers go to app voicemail. See also the mobile setup notes in the product docs for VoIP push registration.
3. Call flow (Business+)
Best when you need a phone menu, several numbers in order, different open vs closed behavior, or ring-the-app paths — all in one visual storyboard.
- On Phone Line → Settings, choose Call flow and save (you’ll be taken to the Call flow tab).
- Or open Phone Line → Call flow anytime.
- Start from a template (simple forward, reception menu, etc.) or edit the path.
- Configure When open and (if hours are on) When closed.
- Click Publish so new callers follow this path. Drafts don’t go live until you publish.
Call flow — when open
During open hours (or always, if hours are off), choose:
- Ring phones / app — one number, several numbers in order, or ring the mobile app. Set destinations and timeouts on the card.
- Hear a phone menu — callers hear a menu greeting (record, upload, or text-to-speech), then press a key. Each option can forward to one number, ring numbers in order, ring the app, or go to voicemail.
If nobody answers a ring path, callers fall through to voicemail (greeting on the Voicemail tab).
Call flow — when closed
Turn hours on under Phone Line → Hours, then on Call flow pick after-hours behavior:
- Go to voicemail
- Ring a cellphone — one number or several in order
- Ring the app
Hours = the schedule. Call flow = what happens open vs closed.
